I hear ya on the stack I would have loved the look of a sleeker stack height but I prefer a slightly higher front end - it's either bar rise or stack for me...

 i think you need to cut the steerer, i dont mind the bars as they are not flat, that stem is hideous and would look much better in black, as would the spacers ..
