what are you intending to use this for?
  • 1 0
well, i intend to ride street and learn trial moves...
why?
  • 1 0
its just seems sort of mountain bike street rather than street trials with the short stem and the hard gearing
  • 1 0
well see about the stem, if it will work i'll keep it. the fork is also not trials specific, so.... if it works why change it???
the gearing is not that hard. im used to it. + again, well see how it goes, i can always by a 25t in front and change my cog from 12t to whatev....

normally street trials bikes have gearing like, 22t-16t or 23t-17t, your not going to be able to do many trials specific moves with 23t-12t or what ever you have just now, also about the stem, for trials its better if you have a longer stem like 70mm or 90mm for street and a good rise on it

But then it's harder to pull up.

are you talking to me or AK77?
  • 1 0
not if you have a high rise stem or bars
  • 2 0
 Still gonna make a difference.

wait are you talking about the gearing or the stem
  • 1 0
 stem...
  • 1 0
if its a higher rise stem then its got more leverage, thats why all trials bikes have long stems or high bars

dudes, it rides great, and its super easy to pull, and im happy with my gearing for now ( 28/12 ).
just the tires fell to skinny, and its a shame... i just bought them... well, i will see how they survive. if its a no go, ill buy some fat ass tires.
the bike feels so light, i need to scale it.

Nice, I have super hard gearing. Sweet, seen some people ride thast £10 rithcey stem, not bad they say. The tires are very grippy in the dry without muck on them, plus they are light. Yeah I want to see how much it weighs!

yeah, they are brilliant tires, light & grippy. just not for a beginner like me. i'll have to much snake bites. i think i will need some fat tires. we'll see.
what gearing do u run?
  • 1 0
 cool, whatever works for you
  • 1 0
Most people dont run that long stems for street, it only people who do trials really. They run MTB stems or BMX stems as these are much better.

but your not going to do many trials moves with a dj stem unless you are only doing spins, whips and manuals

Yeah but he said he was gonna do street, and eventually learn trials...
