Rocket Air is getting ready to rock the Ice rink of Thun for the third year in a row! After two very successful years, the only FMB Silver Event in Switzerland is moving into its third year. On the13-14th of April be prepared to witness some of the best mountain bikers from around the world come and compete for a total of 10`500- Swiss Francs in prize money. Some say that Rocket Air is “the event with the best Atmosphere” and this year is not going to be any different!! The recipe for the this “special” atmosphere involves two important ingredients, the first is the up close feeling and the second is that the course is complete surrounded by spectators, literally!! Having doubled the amount of spectators last year we are looking to reach the 7000 mark with Rocket Air 2012.


Rocket Air is an official tour stop of the FMB world tour (Freeride Mountain Bike world tour) and has been accredited with a Silver event status, for the second year in a row! The silver status helps attract big name riders, but there are other reasons. When the Thun ice rink is packed full of screaming spectators the atmosphere can reach a new level! As last years winner Sam Pilgrim energetically noted after the event : „This Event is actually one of my favourite ones of the year! It’s such a good atmosphere, I love it!“ Sam will be back to defend his Rocket air title, and will have to contend with the likes of Sam Reynolds, Szymon Godziek and Yannick Granieri who are all keen as to have a shot at the title. Incidentally this means that all podium placers of 2011 will be back in 2012. With the already confirmed world class riders, the tension mounts to see what other big name riders a prepared to have a crack at the title.


But don’t forget the Friday night, as TEVA proudly present the “Teva Trick Showdown” this is sure to be a crowd pleaser. In this event only one trick counts and not the whole run, there will be three categories, each of which has 500- Swiss Francs prize money! Best trick, best style and the fans favourite, will be the three catagories, the first two will be judged and the fans favourite, will bedecided as the fans see it! Enjoy a beer or two with the Pros on Saturday night at the official Rocket air after party, The Dakine Freezestyle Night, which will go down at Club MOKKA one of the best party spots in Thun. And just in case you’re not sure what to do after Teva trick Showdown on Friday, then be sure to grab a drink and check out the Friday night concerts at Club MOKKA. Besides the main events on Saturday and Friday, be prepared to be entertained with numerous side events and shows, catering for people for all ages, there is something to see here for everyone. The TSG kids course is for youngest bike fans (and more importantly the next bike generation!) to test/prove their ability on a bike and most importantly have fun, bikes in all sizes are available.
