The Racers Guild of Cannock Chase has been holding regular downhill events at Stile Cop, Cannock Chase for the last 8 years. It's grass roots, push up downhill on a variety of trails at Stile Cop taking riders anything from 1 to 2 minutes to complete.

Over time the events have evolved from free Timed Practice Sessions held monthly to British Cycling Regional B races.

All events remain laid back as possible giving many riders their first taste of competitive downhill racing with rider development always in mind. Luke Cryer, 4 Cross World Champs silver medalist 2015 started at the Racers Guild as a 10-year-old ripper often showing the older Lads a thing or two.

Other past riders include downhill legends Steve Peat and Josh Bryceland, and World Cup up-and-comer Harry Heath. There's always a good atmosphere rain or shine and riders of all levels enjoy the racing side by side.

Check out www.racersguild.co.uk for more details or find us on Facebook, Racers Guild of Cannock Chase.

You can enter the next round on the British Cycling website here - Round 2 of the 2015/16 Winter Series is just one week away!
