History and Deception - Opinion
Come on ppl. Most of these ebikes are e-assist and barely have over 200 watts on tap at max setting. That amount of power is not going to do much trail ripping unless a super-fit freak is using one. I think ebikes, they are fine for the wife, towing younger kids, the grandparents and those coming back from injury on family friendly trails.

Dear Bike Industry - Opinion
I gave up MTB and took up CX and later road bikes and Strava, because, well, the MTB industry are parasites.

Kona Launches New 2017 Models
It's good to recycle old soda and beer cans, not sure if I trust that as a material for making a bicycle frame from.

Kona Launches New 2017 Models
@cstishenko: I measured the tire from tread on my 27.5 trail bike, 26er AM/Enduro bike, road/CX bike and front wheel of my motorcycle......and guess what? They are all within a cm of each other. Wheel size, particularly if you're talking about anything other than 29ers has much more to do with tire profile and tread design. But the marketers and noob buying public are taking far too much notice of what is a tiny difference.

5 Questions I Want Answered - Opinion
I want a new bike, but I have no clue. Plus size? fat? Suspension? How much travel? What axle standard? What headset? What BB? What geo? I've given up. Got a 6er with 150mm travel and SLX with a threaded BB, I'll stick with that because it seems like industry sponsored bicycle musical chairs, and I know I like what I have, sure I'd like more modern geo, but it's not worth the hassle and potential future part redundancy.

Opinion: The Eagle Has Landed
I'm no DH rider, in fact I'm an Enduro/AM (whatdayacallit this week) 140-160mm travel riding wuss, but nearly everywhere I ride is far too steep to ride up whatever the gearing so having these teeny tiny ratios with dinner plate sized cogs and that huge dangly RD is not worth the money. Also I just don't need 12 gears, 8-10 gears on a 40-11 on 34 narrow/wide is fine for me. Seems the are just making cool innovations but really they just aren't necessary.

Plus-Size Bikes - Pinkbike Poll
I've got respect for companies like Surly, and for guys that try out these different wheel sizes. They were niches that were interesting, often with home-brew or hard to find components, real experimentation. What I hate though is these corporations that have taken these niche ideas such as plus sizes and 27.5 and claimed that they are 'better' and tried to force new market segments. I love all my bikes, road, CX, 150mm FS, steel framed BMX you name it, but simply there is no better or best bike, there are simply engineering compromises that work better in some situations than others. I got 10 bikes, I pick the bike according to the riding I'm planning to do on the surface I'm riding it on. The 'best' bike or wheel size/tire size is just marketing nonsense to try to convince you to buy a new bike.
