The 10th Annual Alberta Freeride Awards will be held this Sunday, October 2 at Moose Mountain (just Southwest of Calgary).
We’re getting ready to honor the Alberta DH racers, Freeriders, Dirt Jumpers and Trailbuilders.
There will be free shuttles for all riders starting at the Ing’s Mine parking lot at 11:00am and going until 4:00pm
And the final toonie race of the season for MMBTS will be going as well. With many tight races and a perfect season, we are expecting the final race to be the exclamation mark on a fantastic season.
Taking place on the new trail; SHAFT (Super Happy Awesome Fun Trail) this final race will be an explosive combination of awesome trail flowiness and fast paced racing. SHAFT is a blue trail and accommodates riders of all skill levels, making this race a great opportunity for those who haven’t raced before or are just finding their flow.
Registration for the SHAFT toonie race will be from 11:00am to noon at Ing’s Mine parking lot, with the race commencing at 1:00pm sharp. As always, this will be a member’s only event (memberships for sale at registration for $25). Bring your toonie and get ready to ride one of the fastest, flowiest trails Moose has to offer!
After a day of racing and riding the Alberta Freeride Awards will take place at the River Cove Group Campsite at 5:00pm. Nominee's and winners will be announced and will be awarded with the coveted AFA Shovel!
Directions to River Cove are; West on Highway 8 from Calgary to Highway 22, South to Bragg Creek and 14km West on Highway 66. Just before Station Flats.
