Slick Suspension - Keeping your suspension slick!

Now that winter is here and the mucky, sticky mud is here to stay there is one part more than any on your bike that needs some TLC...

Your Suspension!

Grit and grime is to Suspension as is Kryptonite to Superman, It's a killer! On top of the usual cleaning and love you give your bike it is important to take a few extra steps to keep your suspension running smooth, and to prevent any damage that can easily be done at this time of year.

Fork lowers, around the seals are an amazing trap for mud and grit. Keep them clean! Make sure you remove any built up dirt and grime that gets stuck here as it really can destroy a set of forks in next to no time (Rockshox Bluto's and stony mud do not mix, trust me.). Make sure you clean this off, not just at the end of the ride, but periodically through the ride whenever you stop. We also highly recommend the use of a front mudguard that attaches to the arch of the fork such as Rapid Racing Products' Enduro Guard. This can really help cut down on the amount of crap that gets stuck on and around your fork seals.

Also, the use of silicone based spray lubricants such as Juicelubes Fork Juice, or Muc-off Silicone Shine can also cut down on the amount of dirt that sticks to your suspension. This is also a quick and easy way to make your fork or shock feel a little plusher and smoother, however this is not an alternative to getting your suspension serviced! Which brings me on to my final point...

Suspension servicing! If it has been a while (Or even never) since you have had your suspension serviced, get it done. Do not think you'll just get through to summer, as its important that your seals and fork internals are clean and free of dirt so no damage occurs more than ever at this time of year.

This is where Slick Suspension comes in. We offer a great value, quick turnaround and top quality suspension servicing err... service! With pricing from £75, and turnaround in as little as 24 hours. Quicker, and cheaper than anyone else in the industry! All fork services include a full strip and clean, visual inspection, new seals, oils and a reassembly. (and a cool sticker!)

Please see the below price list for more details.
