SRAM Enduro Series 2016 Round Four, Mt Joyce - Video

A clear and crisp morning greeted riders for round four of the 2016 SRAM Enduro Series as competitors and spectators got set for a day of adrenaline on the shore of Wyaralong Dam. Warm up laps were run, equipment fine-tuned and camping seats occupied as the warmth slowly returned and eyes started looking to the top of the mountain.







The dry track provided consistent conditions throughout the day. Recent track work ensured riders had high-quality trails to enjoy with diverse terrain over the four stages of the day. Difficult rock gardens and drop-offs challenged many competitors while enthusiastic spectators did their best to help them rise to the occasion with cowbells and loud cheers.





There was also plenty of airtime with great jumps scattered all over the course, allowing riders a great opportunity to show some aeronautical style.




The event brought in the crowds with 250 riders swarming to compete. Many young riders joined the fray, helping to ensure an exciting and dynamic future for the sport of Downhill Enduro. At the top of the winners podium for the Elite men was Lindsay Klein, backing up his win in round three. Ben Forbes took out second place. Ben is heading to Colorado for the next round of the Enduro World Series and is displaying great form leading up to the event. Ryan Leutton finished third, showing great consistency following his podium finish in round three.






In the Elite women's division, there was a swap on the top of the podium from round three. Angela Williams took out top honours, improving on her second place in the last round. Shelley Eshman-Myhill continues to show form following her win last round with a second place this time.




Funds from the BBQ went to support injured rider, Andy Lewis, and his family after a recent crash left him paralysed and in an unfortunate situation. $1,026 was raised through this initiative and further donations can be made online here.



A geyser of champagne spray and laughs at the presentations rounded off a great day’s racing and left competitors smiling and eager for round five which will be held at Toowoomba on the 17th of July.
