The drivetrain makes good sense. The belt is softer in the cold then a chain making it easier to crank and no seizing. The internal hub gearbox is to keep him in the right gear enabling him to have loads of grip.

The Invisible Bicycle Helmet?
I'm assuming the airbag deploys via a shock sensor set to a certain G-force. But unlike a car that has it's sensor in the bumper that's designed to go off when it's hit. This thing will go off unintentionally while going off a kerb per se because it's not in one specific place. Also, what happens if you hit your head 2 or 3 times in an accident? The effectiveness is rendered useless. Because of the unintentional deployment, you'll have to replace it a few time before you realize it's not so brilliant.

Wouldn't the footsie get stuck in the tyre tread since the wheel is spinning towards it thus destroying it. I guess it would work going backwards though.

It forces you to run higher bars and gives a mellower stance. It's my cruiser so no big deal.
