The Port Alberni DH went off with alot of rain over the past weekend. About 100 riders were faced with mega amounts of rain, mud, and the longest DH course in the series.
Read on for results and photos! The course started with a drop, and then back down into the much famed DH course we've all grown to love. But this year, the riders were faced with deep ruts, slippery roots, and non stop rain. Some people even chose to ditch their goggles, as they were getting full of mud. We also saw alot of homemade fenders being installed, just minutes before the race.
The shuttling took place this year in a tour bus and two cube vans. Unfortunately, Island Timber lands decommissioned the old shuttle road, so an alternate route was found. The drivers took us as far as they could, before we had to proceed on foot. Big thanks to the drivers for that.
