incase he falls and smashes his face in but then that asks the question, why not wear a full face helmet. BMX'ers in vert wear it so its not a view restriction and the helmets these days allow peripheial vision. Bit silly to be wearing a piss pot doing that in my opinion

Same reason you wear one in sports like Hockey or Rugby, really helps to prevent concussions if you smash your head.

Nah a few other guys wear it, and alot more are starting to, but Semenuk was the one that really got it going.
