I've said it before and I'll say it again: that shock is amazing! You just have to tune it right.
By the way, how do we know that winter is upon us? You start to get some side-way action in the videos Wink

It sure is man. It's just a matter of fine tunning. Great fun on Simply, not so much on 16 S's, but nevertheless we got to ride together! (and eat and drink!!!)

That was a great angle Bro! FYI evryone...Pedros Bike Lust! Its the poo when it comes to silicne polish and spray.imo.Smile Ricardo knows a great brand for all you Euro boys.

 Hahahahaha! You know it bro!

Awesome angle brother! Did I ever tell you, you have very nice legs! hahahaahha I like watching the suspension bobbing through the trial! Awesome ride!

Hahahahahaha! Thank you my brother! RideOn!

because we dont look at it while we ride we forget how much the suspension actually does hey?

very cool angle

that was a very cool pov indeed !!!...the Canyon linkage seems to work much better with the DHXair than any other bike I've seen so far...you still had the O ring at the same position by the end of the ride, with the stupid Nomad, I would have went right through it's travel in the parking lot, lol...are you running your shock with extra air or are you on the recommended settings ???
  • + 2
Yeah Mick. It' amazing how much it works and how many times I have to swap bearings, hhaahahah! As for the shock bro, actually I'm running it with a bit less air than recomended for my weight, and I have yet to bottom out!
  • + 2
that's just crazy man, it's the very first time I actually see a DHXair doing such a great job !!!...everyone I've known riding this shock including me, had to overload the shock to make sure it would not bottom out everywhere and of course, killing the small bump sensitivity in the process...a match made heaven, lol

I think I'm running 150psi on the piggy back and to be honest I can't remember how much pressure I have on the shock itself, but I know it's under the indicated for my weight btother. The only niggle is having to check the pressure every two weeks, but it's no big deal tup

Man i must be such a soft cock of a rider...i have only ever changed bearings once in a bike and even brake pads , i have never had to change them.......i run my fork at 85psi and a bit faster than most and the rear is 250psi and i ride XC in pro pedal mode and open it up on the downs.....

I have a RP2 and love it....the DHX is something i could never get right but have never had set up issues with a RP2 although the enduro has a custom shock i find a little hard at 1st to get right....the forks (RS lyric) are the best fork i have used since the marzo 55's but blowing them to pieces 2 times lost me.....i check the air quite often and find i loose a little every 3 weeks or 100km.

You're not bro...I change bearings because the trails here are very rough on the bikes (as stated on this video lol ) and I used to wash the bike a lot with car detergent, but not anymore...I just spray water, let her dry and then, with a cloth, I clean it with silicone spray and the bike lok new qith minimum water. I had the RP23 on the GT Force and it was a trouble free shock (had to check the air, but that goes the same for every air schock, I think) It took me a couple of months to dial the Van RC2 and the DHX 5.0, but the bike is now running smoothly.
P.S. My mechanic says, by the way I'm riding, my bearings will only last 3 months Frown Frown Frown Frown Let's see if I can prove him wrong with the new cleaning method Big Grin
I'm still dreaming of trying some Lyrics man! I would love to have a go at the 180mm Tottem!

you're doing it right bro !!!...keeping the sled clean especially after riding in the slop will keep it running much longer...I have yet to change the bearings on the TR...using anything that will break down the grease is not the best idea...after everything is dry and clean, I also use a generous coat of silicone spray just about everywhere but the rotors...my bike always look shiny and new (from a distance, lol) and it repels water and mud for the next ride which is a must around here...

That's what I've been doing since ever brother! I found this nice Italian silicone spray that does wonders for my bikes!

Funny you mention car wash detergent.I washed the bike with that stuff a few weeks ago.The next day my pedals siezed, the day after i blew the cartridge on the dropper post and had to strip down the headset for a clean up....we get so much fine dust in our bikes we have to clean often.I always just hose it off, whipe the bike down than that is it.I used detergent as it was the worst my bike has been.I wonder if that is responsible for the issues i have had lately? what is this silicone spray you speak of?

It's a greasy spray that makes your bike look new as fromt the shop! he only niggle? DON'T SPRAY THE ROTORS OR BRAKE PADS! Think of it as a layering coat over the bike, that diguises scratchs and leave it shinning!

The one I use, as well as Paulo, is one branded ECO SERVICE, and it's the best and cheapest silicone I have ever had (and I've been cleaning my bike with silicone for the past 10 years)

Here it is bro. They have sprays for everything!

once a year, I will take apart every moving parts on the bike, clean them bone dry with a strong degreaser and repack generously every cups (bb and headset) and bearings (pedals, linkage, etc) with a quality waterproof grease...the silicone is the protective coat that keeps moisture away and keeps maintenance to a minimum afterward...I'm using this and it works great without being too silicony to the touch, lol... www.canadiantire.ca/AST/browse/4/Auto/3/AutoFluidsChemicals/LubricantsPenetrants/PRDOVR~0381562P/3-in-1+Silicone+Spray.jsp?locale=en

 thanks boys,im on it......

Listening to the video I'm glad the sounds are the music and don't come from the suspension lol lol lol
  • + 2
lol lol It wasn't all that noise, I think, :lol lol lol
  • + 2
All the time we think our suspension is not doing much at all, its actually quite surprising how much it is!!
  • + 1
You're right mate. Sometimes the bikes feels stiff, but it's not! We're just going to fast, but the shock is there doing it's job!
  • + 2
 is that a go pro?
  • + 2
