nah its nothing to do with the amount of travel you can get away with on the bike. Travel limits are set on frames because on small DJ frames like this the leverage of a long fork could break the top tube. It doesnt matter what bike you have the fork on as the steerer tube will always take roughly the same force becuase the length never changes. So leverage neither gets more or less. You could put this fork on a full DH rig capable of 200+ mm travel and still break them doing this jump. The reason this snapped is poor engineering or poor material quality.
