Shale Trail wasn't technically open for riding at the time of filming! Would have been seriously uncool to the builders to poach before it was ready to go and smash ruts into soft berms, even if some jerks were doing so already! As for Apex...that really sharp rock face behind the gazebo would have seriously shredded my tires! $70 is fine for a full park day, but not for 2 minutes of biking!
