Selling my Orange Patriot 7+ size Large. This was my downhill rig and it's been a great bike but I'm looking to upgrade to a full on downhill race bike. I've had this bike for about 3 years and it's only seen about 2 seasons of DH, mostly at Angel Fire and some shuttling. I bought this from the original owner who hadn't ridden it for years, so it hasn't seen that many miles for a bike of its age, maybe a 2005 but not positive.
The nice thing about an Orange bike is they're handmade in England and haven't really changed in a decade. Steve Pete piloted his Orange to many World Cup wins. Plus a single pivot is super simple, easy to service, and basically maintenance free. I've been upgrading this bike since I got it. Bought the fork last spring and had it completely rebuilt at Angel Fire and it rides smooth as butter. Got the shock new from Fox two years ago at a mountain states cup race, only seen 1 season ever. Almost nothing is original.
The brakes and derailleur aren't the best. Shifting is slow and imprecise. The brakes work fine but take some finger strength and make some noise, but again could be better. The new 2.5 Muddy Mary's are a bit too big for the rear and has worn the paint off the seat tube, only cosmetic, could use smaller tire. Other than that the bike is great shape and ready to ride right now.
Perfect 1st DH bike. I've had this bike built up lighter and it pedals surprisingly well, would make a nice enduro bike as well.
Includes Fly full face helmet, TLD gloves, and 661 pressure suit (upper only, no elbow pads). Everything to get you on the trail today.
