2017 Orange Five and Alpine 160 - First Look
I owned a Patriot 7+ for a few years and spent a a lot of money upgrading the suspension, but it always just rode like crap. Worse was how damn ugly it was. the single pivot has tons of issues that I as a rider, not an engineer, noticed ALL THE TIME. That said, it does have a unique quality that for some reason I enjoyed, but I go way faster more comfortably on my vpp bike.

Spank Oozy Trail295 Bead Bite Wheelset - Review
@mikelevey - good to hear. I guess it's just hard for me to understand how people can afford to spend so much money on bikes. Although, I still drool over the ultra expensive stuff

Spank Oozy Trail295 Bead Bite Wheelset - Review
a $600 wheelset that sounds flawless, tough, and light...its good to read a review on something that I might actually want to buy. I know you reviewers get spoiled on the best of the best of the very best, but only a small percentage of riders can actually afford those products. Us "common folk" get nothing out of reviews on products out of our means. thank you for a good review on an obtainable elite level product, lets see more things like this

Why are so many shots unbalanced to the left? It's a sweet edit but I spent the whole time trying to see what was just out of frame

Love these phots, but may I suggest a wider aperture. It's hard to even see the rider with such a wide depth of field

Orange Patriot 7+

$650 USD
Just dropped the price to $650. Buyer pays shipping and fees Selling my Orange Patriot 7+ size Large. This was my downhill rig and it's been a great bike but I'm looking to upgrade to a full on downhill race bike. I've had this bike for about 3 years and it's only seen about 2 seasons of DH, mostly at Angel Fire and some shuttling. I bought this from the original owner who hadn't ridden it for years, so it hasn't seen that many miles for a bike of its age, maybe a 2005 but not positive. The nice thing about an Orange bike is they're handmade in England and haven't really changed in a decade. Steve Pete piloted his Orange to many World Cup wins. Plus a single pivot is super simple, easy to service, and basically maintenance free. I've been upgrading this bike since I got it. Bought the fork last spring and had it completely rebuilt at Angel Fire and it rides smooth as butter. Got the shock new from Fox two years ago at a mountain states cup race, only seen 1 season ever. Almost nothing is original. The brakes and derailleur aren't the best. Shifting is slow and imprecise. The brakes work fine but take some finger strength and make some noise, but again could be better. The new 2.5 Muddy Mary's are a bit too big for the rear and has worn the paint off the seat tube, only cosmetic, could use smaller tire. Other than that the bike is great shape and ready to ride right now. Perfect 1st DH bike. I've had this bike built up lighter and it pedals surprisingly well, would make a nice enduro bike as well. Includes Fly full face helmet, TLD gloves, and 661 pressure suit (upper only, no elbow pads). Everything to get you on the trail today. Rock Shox Totem 180mm 1.5 steer tube Fox Racing DHX 5.0 with Pro Pedal 400 lbs spring. 450 lbs spring included as well Deity Fantom 1.5 stem black Deity Dirty 30 bars green TLD neon green/yellow grips FSA The Pig headset Hayes El Camino hydraulic brakes 200mm rotors Salsa seat clamp green Thompson Setback seat post (set forward) 400mm length so you gain raise it to pedal Saint cranks MRP chain guide and bash guard E13 chainring green 38t Straitline De Facto pedals neon/green Shimano Deore derailleur and shifter 9 speed cassette (new this season) WTB Dual Duty wheels Shwalbe 2.5 Muddy Marry tires, 70-80% tread left
