1997 Pinarello Vuelta 56cm Campagnolo Athena group

This beautiful cobalt blue 1997 Pinarello Vuelta bicycle has plenty of logo engravings or "pantographia" (see included photo collage) in its lugged steel frame. The bicycle is built up with Campagnolo Athena groupset, except for the *Record rear derailleur, which was substituted because the Athena part had an awkward cable mount which created a bend that caused faulty Ergo shifts . The Athena derailleur (last photo) functions perfectly with friction shifters, and I will include it in the sale to keep the complete group together. I've also replaced the notoriously brittle Pinarello decals on the downtube with high-quality VeloCals.

The bike's specs: Campagnolo Athena gruppo, including CRANKSET (170mm, 53/39t chainrings), BRAKE/SHIFT LEVERS (Carbon 8 speed Ergopower), both DERAILLEURS (*see explanation above), HEADSET, BRAKES, PEDALS (with toeclips and NEW Christophe straps) and SEATPOST (aero-style 27.2mm diam.). Other components; HANDLEBAR (Cinelli 41cm with NEW cork bar tape), STEM (Cinelli XA 120mm), SADDLE (Selle Italia Flite Titanium), and WHEELSET (Campagnolo Melbourne 56 with NEW Continental Grand Prix Classic tires and a Campagnolo 8-speed cassette on rear)
