1991 Diamondback Axis Cromoly 18” Shimano vintage XT

1991 Diamondback Axis , 18” True Temper OX butted frame and fork(1 1/8), Tioga Avenger T bone OS Cromoly stem, Avenir True Temper Cromoly bar and seatpost, nice vintage Onza bar ends. Bike has Shimano XT componentry, with SLR plus brake levers (the ones with the slider window!) and 1st year 3X7 Shimano Rapidfire push button shifters. XT derailleurs, shifters, brakes, cranks and rear hub. Front wheel was stolen at some point, and a cheap steel quick release wheel is in its place. Rear rim is Avenir (rebranded Sun CR 17) with Stainless spokes. Spring comfort saddle has been put on in place of original.
Bike works well, seatpost moves freely, rear wheel is true, mechanically good.
Original XT brake pads still on bike, so it has not seen a lot of use. Frame is not rusted, and paint is in good shape. Very light for a full Cromoly frame, fork, stem, bar and seatpost.
A nice vintage ride with rare early XT components, it was second from top of line Axis TT team edition, which shared same frame and XT components, with different stem, bar and paint job.
Too many projects, this one has to go.
