OG 1st gen 2012 Chromag Surface XL steel frame for sale.

Handmade in BC by Chris Dekerf with custom candy apple metal flake wet paint, this Surface was one of the first 15 that were made. It is extremely versatile and can be built up: as a hardtail xc race bike; to use for bikepacking; simply as a sweet run-about; or even K.I.S.S and go single speed with a 32x20 magic gear. The frame is structurally sound: head tube, BB threads, and rear derailleur hanger are all in great condition and it has also been ‘ported’ to allow for a stealth/internally routed dropper post (see pic). This frame has been well loved and there are scratches, chain slap, and chips here and there, and unfortunately some paint bubbling and flaking on the head tube (see pics). It would be a great candidate for a restore respray and sure Chris would love to bring his handiwork back to its full glory (which can be facilitated by Chromag or deal with Dekerf directly…if you’re local)
