2022 Chromag Rootdown XL

Hi all, I am posting my custom built 2022 XL Chromag Rootdown for sale deemed “project smooth hardtail”.

This bike rides excellent, and the parts list has made this a very smooth bike to ride, especially considering it’s a hardtail. Overall the bike is in very good shape. It has some minor scuffs here and there, but it has been ride wrapped since new. This has been my back up bike since summer 2022, so it has had intermittent use. It is an excellent all around bike that I built to have cheap maintenance and be reliable. It’s a great second bike to have, or perfect all rounder if you’re getting into the sport

The build:
2022 (current version) Chromag Rootdown XL in black
Recently survived 2021 Rockshox Lyrik Ultimate fork at 160mm
Oneup carbon bar 20mm rise left uncut at 800mm (these bars make any bike feel so much smoother) - I can swap these out with aluminum bars if you are afraid of carbon
Chromag Hifi 35mm stem (35mm clamp and length)
Rear wheel 29” - Stans flow S2 30mm rim with a DT Swiss 350 hub
Front wheel 29” - currently on an ibis 35mm rim and hub, I prefer the wider rim for feeling in the front but I can swap this out for the matching Stan’s flow s2 and DT Swiss 350 hub if you would prefer
Tires - Maxxis Assegai exo maxxterra front
Maxxis dissector exo maxxterra rear
Both tires are set up tubeless with Tannus inserts
Shimano SLX 4 piston brakes with 200mm rotors and recent pads
Shimano 12 speed drivetrain including:
Shimano SLX shifter
Shimano deore cassette and derailleur
Shimano XT chain
SRAM GX cranks
Wolf tooth 32T oval chainring
WTB Silverado seat
KS dropper post
Pedals are not included, but I can temporarily put some on for you to try the bike

Extras:

There are 2 water bottle cages on the bike, and I can include a large rear mud higher fender for winter riding
