Hiya all I know you get what you pay for but the following links for "Ebays" finest economy carbon frames do look attractive for the budget conscious rider.
They also are backaward compatable as having both disc and v brake mountings.

was wondering if any one has bought one or thought of buying one etc, and if you have purchased one what was it like?

cheers

Wow, that is incredibly cheap for a frame, let alone a carbon fibre one. Dunno if i would trust that frame tbh, wouldn't have gone through the same testing as proper mainstream manufacturered bikes. Depends on what sort of riding you are planning to do on it.

The problem is, if something goes wrong with it, you can't exactly return it.

Funnily enough a friend shown me this frame last night, I would trust it for £169.99, yes it's cheap but they would've tested it as they would be liable to get sued if it broke and hurt someone, I think it will be good for XC but I wouldn't trust it for all mountain or anything heavier, in my opinion you're only paying the 1000 mark price for a brand name when you buy a carbon frame.

I'm not sure I'd be prepared to splash £200 to try one though.

Any know how the geo compares to a similar Trek or Spesh carbon HT?

I have heard of people on other forums buy those frames (or simular) and they are actually happy with them for the price.

RUN AWAY !

I have been into car racing for 10 years now. Ebay parts like turbos, wastegates and manifolds started popping up years ago. All they did was break and explode, or worse the part would fail and destroy your motor. When you went to the company for support they were no where to be found. I learned from experience that you get what you pay for.

Either the bike companies lie about production costs and over heads or them frames ain't gonna last more than a year.

Do a Google search on these Chinese frames. Tons of people have been buying these for years and I have NEVER seen a complaint about them. I met a guy at the last race I went to with a Ebay Chinese special and he had no complaints. If I remember correctly these frames come out of the same factory that 90% of all bikes come out out of today. Bike companies are totally ripping us off.

Ripped of is an under statement, they are coming back for our eye balls.

I'd be carefull with a frame like that, there's a reason that most carbon frames are over 1000 pounds, and it isn't just paying for a brand. Have a look at the On One 456 Carbon or On One Carbon XC Whippet. The 456 is an All Mountain frame designed to take 100-160mm forks and the XC Whippet is a pure-bred race frame designed to take 100mm forks. They always get glowing reviews and are still very well priced at 399 pounds.
Take a look at:

I've just got alu version of the xc whippet and am chuffed to bits with it. Hope this helpsSmile Salute
