So this thread is created for that thing you probably love more than your bike, not your wife / husband or kid. That special someone who's always ready to shred the trails when your mates say it's too wet or muddy.
So post pics, stories (old or new) in respect to this often overlooked member of our sport
I'll start with my boy Dudley , a 4 year old border terrier. He's as loyal as they come and will kill an Xc loop in the morning and hit the dh trails in the afternoon. He's our team mascot and I take him out when people aren't about but if other riders do see him they always crack a smile, I hope you do too!
She is actually a mini Aussie, if I started to ride too fast she would cry/bark to let me know she was afraid of being left behind. She can only run for a about a mile now before she is totally pooped. She sleeps a lot these days but is super chilled out and great around my friends kids.
She's lovely mate, had my mutt out last week, I told him not to sniff the electric fence, he did it anyway and came past me about 30mph crying lol. He waits at the top of any trail then I do a ready steady go and he barks all the way down following me bless him
I don't have one of her in digital format I feel so bad!. I road with my buddy and his Neighbors dog. Did 11 miles of awesome. It's the coolest thing ever. I hate my dog why can't you be good!!! Such a epic ride! She rails burms. Idk what she is. I know understand why it's fun to ride with a dog. But it got annoying when she couldn't keep up with my buddy so she would just jam on the brakes in the middle of the trail too fallow me. But atleast she didn't just roam trails.
Here's my 2 terrors, 3 year olds Rusty and Bella, super well behaved, don't disrupt or interfere, and are just awesome company.
They can ride all day too, they did an 80KM race a while back, and whilst I was nearly passed out, they were revving for more
Here's my story, about 18 months back I got bitten by an Australian brown snake, and had to stay put after first aid and a full leg compression bandage. Australian Brown snakes are both haemotoxic and neurotoxic, and my phone was flat to call for help, so had I moved I most likely would have had a cardiac arrest and died within a hour or two.
These 2 ran back to the entry point and got help, as most guys on my trails know them, and they led them right back to me, and saved my life pretty much.
Both these guys are now fully trained in rescue/retrieval and ride with me whenever I ride alone, and are incredibly intelligent - I sometimes prefer to just ride with the pooches instead of people since i'm fat and old, and slow

Great story oriion! When I lived in Alaska my dog would scare away angry moose and I pretty sure she would have gone after a grizzly given the chance. Trail dogs can be real safety features!
My girl or when she was only a pup...she is 15 now and can't do the biking anymore but when she could she was the best companion you could wish for. She would chase you for ages and we use to see how fast could get her to run and she loved it. Cherish every moment with them because they get old to quick.
