32: 16 is a good one and if you have a kona /norco you prob have a 32 tooth sprtcket so it should be all good and dmr kit comes wit 16 t

you do know that 2:1 is exactly the same as 32:16 ?
and if its 32:15 thers like no difference ive had both
but yea a good start is 2:1 and you can go in either dirction from there depending on your preferences

That's entirely up to the person pedaling, just because you didn't notice doesn't mean its true. I went from a 32-16 to a 33-16 on 24s and the bike felt 100x better.


To the author of this post, to get a useful answer we're going to need a lot more information than "what ratio?". I mean what size wheels are you using and what are you looking for in your pedal stroke? Do you want something that's harder to pedal, lighter?

o well yea if you change the front ring its way more influencial but i changed tha back and it didnt do a ton but yea its probly per person

It also depends on rim size. 2-1 doen not work with all rims. Think of running an 18/9 on a BMX, Unless you ride flatland you'd get laughed at.
