Question: In DH and freestyle riding when you see guys wearing skate shoes are they clipped in or are they riding platform pedals?

just normal platform pedals. well, they usually run ones with large spikes to keep good grip but you wouldn't want to ride clipless on a dh bike casue if you bail you would kill yourself Razz

Some people run the devil pedals for DH, but most of the guys wearing skate style shoes will be running flat's. Except for the guy with the badass Vans with Cleats.

How much are you willing to pay, if you like high quality strong and grippy there are a few choices, but they come at a cost.

1. Straitline
2. Syncros Mental steel (beware the 800g weight)
3. twenty6 6foe

Those will be the best.

i like 50/50's. amazing grip and super sexy lookin too

They are weak, slippy and bad quality. If this guy is coming from clips he will need a pedal with superior grip compared to those.

5050s lick balls and are way too expensive.

the best deal is to get some welgo mg1s they're like 380 grams and 70 bucks
or welgo b57 are super grippy.

twenty6 pedals are the grippiest pedal I have ever ever tried

They aren't the grippiest but they are certainly in the top 5.

I said they are the grippiest I've tried. Not the grippiest there is. I've tried Straitlines and Mentals and all that crap, these were better.

There is no grippier pedal than the Syncros mental (steel), so unless you have the 6foe set up perfectly and the Mental set up completely wrong your statement will be incorrect.

the new 5050's came out with pins adjustable in height..

you can put them all the way out to 5 mil's..

They are still inferior, my friend has them with a aftermarket set of 10mm pins which hang out 6mm, he also uses Straitline hex pins on the outside, my Straitlines still have a lot better grip. Plus the fact I don't have to tighten them each ride, unlike him.

They aren't for all people and certainly aren't for using with thin soled shoes, this can cause certain people to hate them.
