I have the EC-D special edition frame, it rides really nice! It pedals like a dream, when you pedal hard it doesn't "bob" at all. The chain doesn't grow when you go through the rear travel either, so it wont skip or have any pedal feedback through rough stuff.

Personally i like mongoose. For 2009 they really stepped up there game. For $800 i dont think you can get a fully new. But try looking in the buysell area
Anyway, try to find a Black Diamond Double or Triple. It will have to be used, but you migth find one in your price range. http://www.mongoose.com/mtn/ProductDetails.html?id=2638&enc=mtn|6
lol, lots of people think mongoose suck but there actaully really dope!
For sure, I love my Khyber Super. I would compare it to a Nomad or Enduro but for a much smaller price. I can't wait to get my Boot'r for next race season. I would opt for Mongoose over other brands based on function, price for the spec, and quality of thier high end bikes.
