Alright, so after Christmas I'm going to be getting my first DH bike, but I can't really decide as I don't know too much about 'em. So that's why I need your guys' help! Smile

These are the ones I've been looking at, which I've seen on the BuySell section here;

£500

I'm probably looking to spend around £1,000. The Norco and Spec look great. However, the Norco is collection only, and it's bit of a distance away.

The Spec is a little over my budget.

The Giant, I have no idea about?

The and £500 Spec, looks great for the price.

Please don't just tell me to go for the most expensive one, keep in consideration the price and stuff.

Or, any good ones in the FS section that I've missed in Europe.

Thanks! Big Grin

Yeah, but my budget is about £1,000 so it's a little over, and adding new forks wouldn't be an option as I'd have no money Razz

the norco is a great bike and so is the demo, ive never ridden a giant but have always liked them aswell, the bighit isnt much of a downhill bike anymore though, the giant is also more of a free ride bike

The £500 Big Hit and the Giant are looking like the ones taking my fancie the most at the moment, mainly because of the price...

The Big Hit is awesome for the price, right? It'd be pretty decent?

The Giant looks simply amazing, seems to have great spec and is in my budget! It doesn't look like it has much travel though?

go for the giant m8..like you said it has a very good spec for the price and i personally think it looks great too. Ive had a bighit and there not great, and for your first dh bike a demo may be a little heavy..just my opinionSmile

yeah i think the giant is the best one for you,i personally wouldn't ride the big hit, i tried one and i would rather ride dh on a hardtail. giant has a really good reputation and i(before i knew much about mtb) used a giant xc bike as my dh racing bike/freeride(but not much freeride) so i know itll be tough. my vote is giant.

I think you would be totaly stoked with the last three. my choice would probably be the demo. Whatever you get, have fun with it.

big hit
for 500 your getting a great frame,
then you have 500 for other stuff, eg new forks

edit: search ebay a bit, ive seen some great deals recentaly

Go for the Giant! it looks in great shape and for that price its a steal. It has 200mm of travel front and back which is more than enough for anyone especially beginner downhill. And for the price the equipment is amazing! Even though its not a downhill specific bike it more than enough to demolish any track.
