well my uncle may be giving me his old lathe, and i thought it would be a easy way to practice by making pegs. do you think people would be interested in custom size/length pegs? also had an idea to incorporate the axle nut in it, i know they are already made, but these would be custom lengths, also what types of materials? obviously cromo, but what else would you like? and what would a good price be?
i also have access to a sand blaster so i could etch names and such into them.
people will already have their own light nut and there will be no way to spin it for wear. Horrible idea on that part.
I say just stick to the regular old peg styles. with anti roll pins/ many of them for different placements and have access to all different kinds of metals
If you're using pegs to save weight...why run them? Those would snap and wear away so flipping quick. Why not try what a few have tried before? Find a way to make a peg that rolls. Just make it a sleeve that goes over a peg and rolls.
