i've never had any of them snap, but...EVERY SINGLE ONE I've ever seen/ridden on, has been broken. They are usually seized up and provide just about no travel.
i have a RST 191 '07 year on my trek 3700 ('07). It isn't that good (sucks), it's rebound is to high, is basically on lockout all the time, but it can go off curbs and stairs and stuff, enough to get me to school and back...
haha check my pics i was riding with my rst, hit a jump, (i know i wasnt supposed to with those forks), landed on the landing ramp cased slightly and we heard a loud "BANG" we though i poped my tube we checked and it never poped. never knew what made the noise. Then i noticed this white mark on it. I whiped of the dust and uncovered a big deep crack i was pissed had to go home and every one else just laughed at me for having rst's. Now im searching for a new fork. Maybe argyles
i had an rst gila stock on my diamondback, it went completely rigid after 2 months... i slid off the lowers, took out the bottom out bumpers and now its as smooth as butter... well not quite, it still sucks but anyway..
