Not a big deal just save weight on the parts that go on it. Before I go out and get one I would try to give it a test ride. I did and I did not like the feel of the BR.

It's funny as hell. My friend did it and he is as straight as you can be.

It feels slightly twitchy to me, but that's just me. It has amazing pop off of jumps.

i test rode one at an lbs and it was nothing special, the weight was brutal even with xtr and fox floats. the empire definitly felt a 100 times better, i acount 10 of those times due to the 400$ price difference

Surprisingly, 34lbs for a 5.5inch travel bike isn't light anymore, or at least when you compare it to a 32.15lb 8 inch rig.

why would you compare a dh rig to a slopestyle one? and 34 pounds for a slopestyle bike is pretty good considering how strong they have to be to withstand some of the shit that can be done on short-travel fully's now.

EDIT: Double post.

If you have no budget I recommend this build:

Frame: BottleRocket
Fork: 36 TALAS RC2
Wheelset: Hope Pro II's laced to Mavic 729's
Cranks: Shimano XTR's or Middleburn's
Chainguide: e.13 LG1+
Deraileur: Shimano Saint
Shifter: Shimano Saint
Cassette: Shimano Dura-Ace
Brakes: Formula The One's with 185mm rotors.
Seatpost: Thompson Elite or Masterpiece
Saddle: Anything that you think is comfortable.
Bars: Nukeproof Warhead
Stem: Thompson or Straitline
Grips: Whatever you like
Pedals: Wellgo MG1's
Tires: Maxxis Highrollers
Tubes: The lightest ones you can find.
