Hello Guys,

For all those who bought a YT Capra, can you tell me if with your bike comes the rockshox pump for the lyrik?.

Today I received my capra, and I noticed that the pump was not included, and the crank set on the webpage says it's a ethirteen, but it came with race face.

Should I report it?.

Thanks in advance!

No free pump with mine either, i noticed they tried to sell me one on the accessories page with mech hangers and sleeveless bro shirts.

The capra doesnt come with a shock pump, or mine didnt at least, you will need to purchase one.

There have been problems with the e thirteen cranks. In that you need a special tool to get the e thirteen cranks apart, the crank arm and shaft, tent to bond together too tightly. Raceface dont have that problem as much. So you've probably done well there. Better off with raceface cinch cranks. Consider it a free upgrade.

Hope that helps

You will need to get the racface adaptor tool from 8mm to 16mm hex to put your cranks back on, if your gonna service them yourself. Find a raceface dealer, im sure theyre are loads in the USA

I am getting a replacement Monarch from YT as a warranty, but I am pretty sure its going to be the debonair version. I remember reading a while ago that the debonair wasnt such a good choice for the capra because of the high leverage ratio in conjunction with a higher negative air chamber.

Has anyone got any real world experiences with the new monarchs on Capras?

Cheers

did you see the Fox X2 recall?

I think its something as trivial as some units not having the "250psi max" sticker missing or in the wrong place. I guess theyre worried about 500lb riders putting 450+ psi and and hucking down the rampage course. lol

I want to see if anyone else has had a similar issue with their Monarch Plus Rc3 rear shock?

When the shock is cold - i.e. hasn't been used for >15mins, there is a very defined notch about 1/4 of the way into its stroke. I can both feel and hear the notch.

However after some aggressive riding - the shock heats up, the notch disappears, runs smoothly and the bike feels 10x better.

I sent the shock to Fishers (UK Sram distributor) about 3 months ago who returned it and said there is nothing wrong with it. The problem went away but has since returned and is worse than before.

I've had it looked at by mechanics but they aren't sure what's causing it. My next move is to send it to a suspension specialist like Flotec or TFTuned but that'll be pricey!

If the shock is faulty and needs replace - what are my chances of getting YT to send me an x2 instead?!

It seems I have the same problem with CF Comp 2016. It occurs only when it's pretty cold, below 5 Celsius and disappears after 15 min ride if it’s not freezing. I made the air can service and changed the shock pushing and it didn’t make any difference! The next thing to check again would be the rear end bearings, but without the shock the rear end moved pretty smoothly.

Do you have new ideas what’s wrong?

No the 250psi thing is only a quick "fix" to avoid blowing up any more I guess, because according to the manual the maximum pressure is 300 psi. I'm sure all the guys at rampage ride really low pressures tho and are safe Wink
But with the fairly long stroke of the Capra 250 psi should be more than enough for most people I assume.

O+

Warranty is pretty good but they do demand details, photos and even videos of product faults before giving you a returns label for pre-paid postage, its just time that it costs you which can vary depending on the part that is faulty but eventually they will come good for you.

I'm aware of that but I highly doubt that the sticker is the fault, it's just a way to recognize shocks before a certain date.

@clefrigh
You don't usually need the 16mm Allen key. This is just some sort of cap that is mounted to help extracting the cranks but shouldn't come off. All you need is a standard 8mm key. There is a manual on the race face webpage explaining the process.

Cheers
