@justanotherusername: also you get what you pay for. I did all simulations of the rocker of my enduro bike for 7075-t6, which was called out for on my drawings and was quoted, but the final part definitely does not oxidize like 7075 would...

@fred-frod: programming a cnc is a lot of work that's done by a skilled individual (even though AI is currently shaking this a lot) and then for complex parts like this workholding to accurately and ridgily hold onto oddly shaped parts oftentimes requires machining custom fixtures or soft jaws. Even things like ordering stock materials in the right alloy and size all is time and cost that all need to be recuperated with that one part. So for many machine shops the risk of breaking an 400$ end mill on a one of part is just not worth the hassle. Other shops are highly specialized in low volume high complexity parts, but they will charge you a premium...
