I have a Hope Pro 2 Trial with gears. 4 gears from a 8 speed cassette. With a 9 speed cassette this is probably diferent: One thin washer then the 4 cogs, with the plastic spacers, then the last metal spacer that comes with the hub.
Alright this is probably one of the dumbest questions out there, but Im in the process of building a bike and before I order these parts Id like some help on how I can run them.
I plan on buying a Marzocchi 55 ATA (Upgrading to a Talas when it fails on me). It has a 20mm QR like so.Unsecure image, only https images allowed: http://images.jensonusa.com/large/fk/fk291a09.jpgTo run a Hope pro 2 QR hub like so...Unsecure image, only https images allowed: http://www.stif.co.uk/images/products/medium/4129_qr_400.jpg..Will I have to remove the QR from the fork and replace it with new skewers like this?Unsecure image, only https images allowed: http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Images/Models/Original/31894.jpg Thanks, Mike

Hope makes hub axle size conversion kits. You can buy one for 9mm, 15mm or 20mm, and they actually change the spacer sizes in the hubs. That will the the best way to do it.
you'll need to buy the hope 20mm conversion kit. basically the 'axle' on the front pro2 hub are actually two inserts that pull out and can be swapped with 20mm spacers. very easy, just need to source the 20mm spacers.

no you pull the qr adapters out of the the hub and fit the 20mm ones (these will have to be bought sperately) then remove the axle from the fork line the hub up with axle holes in the fork then reattach the axle to the fork and secure it.

Wow that deffinately cleared it up. Thanks guys. I thought I would need a converter but I never understood how it worked.
or just buy the 20mm pro 2 first instead of wasting 40 $ if its not needed on adapters. just buy the 20mm hope pro 2 instead of the 9mm QR pro 2. the 55 is 20mm thru axle or whatever so you need a 20mm hub...
yea if you never plan on running 9mm QR on the wheel, go ahead and buy with the 20mm kit straight up if they give you the option. when i bought mine i only had the option of buying a 9mm axle hub and getting the conversion kit extra. cost a bit more but at least now i can go back to a 9mm if i ever want to... doubtful but could be useful.
