I tend to be fairly picky about what parts I ride, so even if I went for a new bike I'd build up a frame. Current one will accept 27.5 with new rear dropouts and apart from wheels/forks/cranks everything is less than a year old, so I end up with a practically new bike swapping to 27.5
secondhand 2015 36's seem to go for $100 or so more than a secondhand pike so that's now looking like the way to go.
Yeah I'm wanting a new 36 over a pike now, sounds to be every bit as good and then some. Just a shame about the price difference, though as you say second hand theyre reasonable.
As you blokes said, second hand or bargains are good reasons to get 26, but you won't get a bargain on a brand new MY 26 fork, like a pike or a 36.
On marzocchi, the 55 at 170mm and 350 at 160mm have the same a2c. Only problem is, the 350 has that 15mm axle that is not compatible with any of my wheels or more importantly my roof rack.
