M9 carbon in the works?

I think the M9 is officially off the manufacturer list. Kind of sad since IMO the M9 is way more bike than the 951. Probably really complicated making a carbon bike with that much adjust-ability.

Who actually knows though.

I agree with you there...honestly the M9 has had quite a good few years...4? Yea I don't know how I feel about the 951 as I had the 2011 version and it never got ridden since I always used my M9 instead. Maybe the new one is better? If not, hopefully a M12 is in the works.

Yep, looks like they got rid of their best two bikes first the Uzzi and now the M9. Bummer

I made a test-ride on a 2014th 951 and love it, but sad that the m9 is not in the lineup for 2015. Wasn't there any protos with 27.5 wheels?
So I hope there come a m12 for 2016/17

Lender how was the 2014 951? Im curious if the geometry is similar to the 2011 version that I had?

I don't know how the 2011 was but the 2014 was very nice, it likes to go foreward and was very stabil in fast and rough terain Smile
If you can, look for the datasheet from these two versions or better make a testride.

It was a full bike from the swiss-reseller for testing, I have not enough money for an Intense Frown

Nice to see 650b setups. I'm currently on a medium M9 and considering going to a large to see what it's like with 650b. I'm 5'10.5 to be exact. Although a large M9 with 27.5 wheels will make for a crazy long bike.

As for the rake on the fork... you can always mess around with the angleset top halves and fine tune things.

I predict the 951evo carbon will make an appearance.

I have a medium m9 as well and Im 5'10. The 650b swap is def worth it in my opinion, I wouldnt go for a large since you arnt over 6 foot. Also intense is not making the m9 anymore as of 2015 in case you were looking into getting one. My thoughts would be to try a 951 from someone who has the 650b setup and see if you like the bigger wheels. If so, then either convert your current m9 or just wait until they make a M12 or whatever is the next bike they make.

Good to know. I'll just stick with the medium for now since 650b on a large would make for a monster of a long bike.

I have slacker dropouts from an M6/Socom that fit the G3 holes in the longest setting. That should eliminate any geometry changes of the bigger wheel.

Reviving this post...

I have an M9 Medium frame.
Its possible to go 650B?

Its really an good upgrade?

I have a 2011 M9 medium myself. I bought the new dedicated 27.5 dorado and the spank 27.5 dh wheel set. Love it man, cant really compare though if it is as sluggish in maneuvering compared to say the M16. Honestly, mine feels more stable and rolls much faster than it used to. If you need to upgrade stuff anyway, I say go for it. If not, maybe hold out?

Thanks man.
I have an 2011 M9 Medium frame too, but with a Boxxer Race 2008 in the front (yeah, i know lol).
Thinkn about upgrading my front to an Dorado 2015 PRO used... What u can say about Dorados?
Your M9 has the newer coolet box link (2012 to after models i think)? My lower link gets loose sometimes.

The M16 is probally a even better M9.
The weight and geometry isnt very diferent, but reviews says the suspensions works better in the newer frame, and i think it has (probally) a lower BB compared to an M9 in 650B stuff.
