This is apparently common on an older Gt Fury. Spotted this a week before an alps trip.

Thanks! Been back a week, luck had it a transition tr500 frame was going reasonably cheap and everything was a straight swap, even the shock that I had just paid out to be serviced. Only had to pay out for a headset reducer to fit the fox 40’s. Finished the build the day before we left. Still could have done without the expense though
