There - at least I don't have my head up my own arse - I was wrong but amended my error!

Problem is there are so many people here who don't know what they are talking about who hand out advice like poisoned candy.

My comments weren't meant to be too personal at you, I just find it frustrating when bad advice are posted.

Fine, but constructive criticism solves things a lot better - you can't just refute someone without stating fact! - So I did the maths for youBig Grin

Oh, and double butted spokes are weaker than plain gauge, tis a fact that cannot be refuted! - Although they are weaker by a small amount in comparison to the weight loss gained. Therefore, the extra production costs can be justified.

Damn, forgot spoke nipples!Madder

Standard Brass nipple = 1g each

Mavic DeeMax front 20mm (28 spoke) = 1120g
Mavic Ex823 rim (32spoke min)(657g) + Hope proII front 20mm 32 spoke [to match Ex823](180g) + DTswiss AlpineIII x 32 (209g) + spoke nipples (32g) = 988g apprx

Still lighter!

so if deemax and 823 are the same rim, can u just by a deemax hoop and lace it to a hope pro 2?

You cant buy the deemax rim separate. thats why there is a 823
