Yea Schwinn do make good bikes in the states I believe. Kinda like Iron Horse and there crappy bikes and there good ones, except more drastic.

there 5 pounds and way to expensive... what else should I do? I dont like derailluers...singlespeed on my DH bike? I dont think so...

Sometimes, but not exponentially.

But if you run a short cage RD then you have to get a smaller cassette in most cases, since a short cage can only handle up to a 32 tooth.
