mongooses are pretty good mate i dont ride a fully but a hardball and @ £600 its pretty up there and rides sooo nice

u can get a mongoose kyhber. its well gd. gd spec for cheap.

They did slip up a bit though with the fireball because the old one was sold as a "bombproof dirt jumper" and it just wasn't but the setup was solid I still have half of it.

Lol they only have one bike for 09 and there are 2 versions of it and the more expensive team one is going to be better what rider input was needed there?

The 08 and 09 Mongoose MTB's are real good. The brand has a crap name because their BMX bikes are rubbish but the MTB line is excellent (especially when compared to other bikes in the same price range). For freeride you cant go wrong with a Khyber or Pinn'r. Your price range is limiting though so look for some 2nd hand bikes.
