wow - the XTR's are expensive! £40 for a single lever. Ouch.

What about the XT's?

£40 for the pair, could try to flog the front one back on ebay (as I only run a rear).

i said 'aparently noisy'
my lever cost £20 on chainreaction when i got it, guess that was a while ago though.
mtb brakes are always going to work better than bmx brakes cause well they are meant for going down mountains...

Hey - so I've been looking around for levers. So far I've ordered a Shimano XT M770 rear brake, can't seem to find an XT lever anywhere except in pairs for around the £50 mark.

So, I either go for the very expensive XTR lever at £40, or a cheap and cheerful Deore lever at £15 a pair.

Seriously, how is the XTR that much better to justify the extra £££?

the extra adjustements, the design... a much more comfortable feeling lever than the deore... I got a brand new pair of those POS somehere in my closet... i rather use my old avid leverlol

an xtr lever will last a very long time, pretty much fit and forget. A cheaper lever will come lose and develop play a lot quicker.

Went for the XT's in the end, slightly cheaper than the XTR's. But still look quality.

Funnily enough, the guy in one of the LBS's today was trying to convince me to ditch the XT's and go with cheap Deores. He said the XT's will feel spongey.

I think he was talking about the parallel push version of the XT's:

and not the one I picked up:

These are the levers I finally picked up today:

Yeah, I thought it seemed a little odd. Either way, looking forward to getting my XT's set up and run in.

I recommend Nokon housing, because it doesn't compress.
