Well well, now we have a GXingle Speed

It definitely doesnt have the same ring as "zingle" speed unfortunately. i cleaned it up a bit so its not so hacked looking. so far it works flawlessly.

I like it man. As much of a Shimano fan as I am, I actually think the SRAM would be a better candidate for a tensioner. the clutch is way stiffer and more smooth even if the Shimano is fairly adjustable. Looks good...sharpie up all that silver and black it out...it'll look factory.

How do you calculate the length of the chain?

This might be more than you're willing to do do, but I make a piece of wood (1 1/2" x 3/4") with the eye to eye measurement of my shock at full compression (resting eye to eye minus the stroke).... I just drill holes for the mounting bolts and cut it to length. I simply remove my shock and install my mock "fully compressed shock" and then size the chain as short as possible without over extending the tensioner. It's easier than letting air out, removing springs, or measuring things, and you know it will work. Save the wood for later measurements.

Surley better to cycle the frame throughout all of its travel as the chain length wont be at its longest at full compression due to most axle paths not being 100% rearward? (Bikes with HPP's being the most rearward?)

Personally I like a bit of extra length in the chain to free up any negative effect on suspension,
As well
coming from 4X I used to set my chain as short as possible with the cage pointing forward. I found this prematurely wear out mechs..

I had an old chain that I used to experiment with chain length. Removed the damper to cycle the frame through it's full travel, then found a good length to cut the new chain to

And as for modded Sram mechs
Take the X an name it Xingle, so still pronounced zingle....

Can anyone help?
Converting a DH bike to single speed? I already have a shimano 11spd chain and a 11 speed 34t RF chainring up front.
Prefer to keep the chain ring and crank as I switch them around with my enduro depending on what im getting up too.
Can anyone recommend any kits to finish the job? Shimano freehub. Seem some stuff pros run but there as expensive as saint derailleurs. Also worried if some of these kits are designed to work with 10/9/7 speed chains and cassettes only. Thanks

Any 13th single speed cog/kit will be good for the rear. I'd recommend going for a 'fat foot or wide cog like gusset or the reverse kit.

As the tesioners I think the reverse tensioner is a bit more affordable but the SB One's though very expensive are also VERY high quality.

Or search this thread for Zingle speed mech conversion, though that is lacking in sideways adjustment

Most jockey wheels will work with 11spd

Anyone know a singlespeed kit for XD drive at a decent price?
Or does anyone know if I can convert a freehub XD drive to Shimano for DT Swiss 240 12x157 hub?

Not sure if this was answered but Gusset do a XD SS conversion kit. I’ve run it for the past year or so with no problems

That bike is porn! Love the lack of dropper post and having single speed, pure freeride.

Hi guys,
in the end I bought the "Reverse Components Colab Chain Tensioner" but, after only 3 days in bikepark, the front tooth broke. Any suggestions?

Did you hit anything? If not, maybe try contacting the place you bought it from and asking for a replacement/refund if it goes under warranty.

Looks rad. Almost looks like it's running 24 inch wheels solely due to its long wheelbase.
