Hello there.

I have an orange alpine 2016 (old shape not the new new one)

I have a squeak coming from somewhere. Bloody annoying.

It happens when the suspension is compressed to around 30-40% , it will squeak whether you are off the bike just pressing the saddle down to compress the suspension, and when you are ridding and bounce on the saddle

I replaced the bearings and greased everything up with copper grease,
tried 2 different shocks (worth noting both using offset bushings - brand new one one of them)
Greased the rear axle, tried it tight and loose
tried it without any cables on the bike - still squeak

im pretty sure thats all the moving parts that could possibly squeak, guess whats left is to try a new shock with different hardware, or a new rear axle. Both expensive options to try :@

Despite all of that it still squeaks, anyone got any ideas?

Driving me mad. Other than that love the bike.

Cheers.

I've had once a creak coming out the derailleur housing rubbing the frame internally. Try putting more slack (or less) when pushing down on the saddle and see.

And remove the air/the coil, should be easier to pinpoint if you can hear it constantly.

I have a sneaky suspicion that it could be your saddle? Have you tried tightening everything up on it? Failing that maybe brakes? Really just guessing now

Had a similar squeak from my Alpine 2014 (looks like 2015/6 but 26 inch)... it turned out to be the clutch in the XT rear mech. Took me ages to find it.

Chain tension increases as suspension compresses and the mech moves a touch... squeak!!! Take it apart and put some grease in it. Ride again and it should work it's way in and stop squeaking.

Worth a shot?! Hope it helps.

So should probably post a picture of my new Five frame. 2017 model in Norlando Grey. Built up to a smidgen over 28lbs. I cannot believe how awesome it rides. Pedals amazingly! After vowing never to buy Fox again, I am amazed at how good the Fox shock is. Light years ahead of the Monarch Plus debonair on the old frame.

Thank you. Tried every option now, and none work. What am I doing wrong?
