Because mountain bikers have historically been a colorful group. If mountain biking was comprised of nice, tidy little rule followers, this sport would be a sterilized, shadow version of what it is today. Do you like airs? freeride lines? going fast, surviving bad decisions? This is what attracts a very large group of core mountain bikers, so you will have to excuse a lot of us for not being socially acceptable all the time.
