cranking the rear up wont help much as it will just mess up the geomatry and feel of the bike even more

I have a 2005 888rc and it has 170mm of travel so you may have gotten the shorter travel version.

You can always upgrade the front spring. That would be the best compromise, even though this bike is fairly tough. Definitely recommend up grading to Hydro brakes, they help TONS. Especially for a 35lbs pound bike.

No such thing. RCs are all 203mm.

definitely wrong, they came in two different travel. I know because I had a pair of 170mm forks.

dropoff triples (good riddance to those pieces of shit) came in 170mm

888s have always been 200mm

Huh, I have honestly never heard of the pussy version of the 888. Good to know if my balls ever shrink up I can throw this on my bike and hammer some sweet 4ft drops. Thanks dick.
