if you read all my QUOTES you will see that i am repeating what the uk importer advised me, like i said. I asked the people who know, not who think they know. After all they are the UK fox distributors.
I had a low-speed compression damping problem with my rear shock recently; took it to the store I got it from for warranty issues. 'Pro' racer guy tells me there is nothing wrong with it and that since he is 'pro', he would know. I'm like, are you kidding me? This shock is not smooth at all; can't you feel the huge stiction when you push on it? I don't care who you are, you obviously cannot tell the difference between a functional and non-functioning product: (I grab this Devinci Wilson with a DHX 5, push on it, and show him that the shocks action is completely smooth, unlike mine.)
They are distributors; working in shipping and receiving. Did you actually talk to any service technitions?
Main point is that you need to talk to someone who actually knows. At my local bike shop, there is a flurry of dumb employees. One actually told me that you can't have a plush AND bottom-out resistant fork. Obviously he hasn't had any experience with other than BMX bikes or Canadian Tire bikes.
could be a blown or worn seal and air has got in thus creating the swish noise, i think the correct term is cavitating?. SOMEONE will correct me if i am wrong no doubt,my dhx 5.0 has started to do it lately, but i could be wrong. i am human.
After this post, I politely corrected you, as you were in fact misinformed.
Straight from www.dictionary.com
CAVITATION- The formation of bubble like gaps in a liquid. Mechanical forces, such as the moving blades of a ship's propeller or sudden negative changes in pressure, can cause cavitation.
If you read these it will tell you that the pockets are formed by gasses that are NOT from an outside source, they are within the liquid all the time, hence why this can happen in a completely sealed and bled environment such as a shock.
Air getting in from the outside, as you can see, is far different, and actually a much less serious problem.
my dhx 4.0 made that exact noise i brought it to my shop and apparently water and dirt got into my air adjustment valve so they told me i just need a rebuild and to always keep the piggy back valve up to its right amount of psi. also the did a quick fix so i could keep ridding which was just to pump it up to like 150 psi.
like i posted earlier all in caps lock of course,cavitation/air pocket or void in the oil etc.i am no tim flooks, and i think neither are you.
You still fail to see the point. Cavitation and air being introduce to the system are two very different things. When cavitation occurs, there is no more air in the system than there was when things were working perfectly normal.
16 and 18 , there is one thing that comes with age. its called restraint,so ill not bite and start abusing either of you two BOYS. i have probably forgot more than you two have learnt. so keep up with the abuse and be taken off pink bike by the mods.

I think you may be mistaken in who needs to be taken off pinkbike. I love the gigantic irony and/or contradiction of these posts.
