Hey guys. I'm planning on a mild lift, sits pretty high right now anyway. I'm swapping out the leafs for new ones, should give me a bit of a lift too HAHA

Front leafs are practically flat.

You're from Abbotsford. I'm sure you've seen your fair share of awkward-looking lifts. I know I have in Langley.

But I don't agree in saying 6" isn't much. I'd say that's a maximum. It seems to be a fascination with the younger generations of the world to lift and keep lifting. I've got friends who put a 9" on their short box F150. Looks dumb as ever.
There a fair share of awkwardly lifted pavement princess here in abby as well.

Those wheels look good. As for tires, what size are you thinking? I think the Duratrac comes in a 315 something or other that runs out to about 35" but I'm not sure. Had that tire on two rigs and loved them.

O+

I have those rims, more or less, and 35 x 12.5 R15 BFG KM2s. At 89 lbs/tire & wheel combo they're light so they are good on gas as well as for overall performance, and the KM2s work great on road and off. Compared to a set of tires for a strictly off-road vehicle the sidewalls are a little thin, but a little common sense in the rocks more than makes up for that.

Given those choices, I think my second choice would be MTZs - they're very well behaved in winter.

Steelies are nice because they are cheap but not nice because they are much less round than aluminum wheels, and steelies are a total bitch to balance.

Have you considered MTR-Kevlars as another option for a heavier rig? They have stiffer sidewalls than a KM2, wear well, and are phenomenal on the rocks and in mud. I think I'm going MTR-K for my next set of tires.

second the mtr kevlar.

I'd honestly get a set of rally rims.. or just some plain rims. Just not a fan of fancy rims on old trucks.

Honestly don't like the wagon wheels. Its hard to find oldschool looking rims that are 8 lug and actually look nice.

MTR kevlar looks like it would be a good choice.

I've owned a set of the mud terrain ta km2's, like them a lot. havent had much driving experience on snowy roads with them though.

Did some clean up tonight, got the old exhausts out and the wiring harness ain't no more!
Time wasn't on my side tonight and neither was the weather. Better luck tomorrow.

Also found these,

Thinking I may go two sets of tires. One summer (road) and one trail/snow tire. Looking to be the best option at this point in time.

Tire shop prices at cost or lower for me. sweet.

Always go two sets of tires. No point putting unnecessary wear on your M&S tires on the summer roads.

Think I'm gonna go with the goodyear wrangler mtr for summer, has better siping for water displacement and can be off-roaded

and mud terrain km2's for the winter time/mud fun time

Think I'll get the bfg's in 37's and the goodyears in 33's for the winter time. both in 17 inch, steelies in the winter aswell Don't be needin to f*ck up nice rims with the salt and crap.

Posted: May 2, 2012 at 20:15 Quote
Both radial, so they won't make a huge hell of noise and still be fairly good with stability and cornering.

*edit*

Looking at some reviews, and considering my winter/mud tire choice I may have to swap out my tire selection.

I did use the mud terrain ta km2 on my jeep, they ripped through the snow fairly well, however, the nitto trail grappler mt has been rated higher via offroaders.com on the Nitto Trail Grappler MT

Overall
BFG scored 3.6667/6
Nitto scored 3.5/6

Nitto faired better in snow and trails, where as the bfg faired better with mud, rock and sand

Opinions on that?
