Davemud..... LGD, Labatt Genuine Draft use to have 30 sided beer cans but they were not bell shaped?

I was trying to find the can and found this. Kinda looks like one of the porn mags from Billy Madison.

Now sweet heart be careful withthose teeth... lets not damage that beautiful smile... what were we talking about again?

Yep you are right it was the LGD can... I thought it was Labbats something or other but couldn't place it. And it wasn't bell shaped. The bell shaped can was Arashi I think, a Japanese beer but I don't think it had the flats on it.

The old school Brodie is sweet, U brake and thmbies. I had XT thumbies on my RMB Element Race until about a month ago when I rebuilt the drive train and switched to Attacks... its hard to find new shifters for 8 spd and since I had a few 8spd cassettes in my stash that what I went with.

Agreed, but I'd almost prefer to hit up Wiegele's and ride with Bob Rankin in the winter than Jay Hoots in the summer...

most definitely looks like fun. hes rocking the norco 5 which i will go out on a limb(not a big one mind you) to say that it will be the trendy bike to see in lots of BC riding spots next year.
on another note, what are you old farts doing for the holidays? i'm gettin ready for some deep pow in fernie next week, always a good place to fall down a hill in any season.

I rode with jay Hoots at my local hill this year, seems like a nice guy but without being disrespectful he can't build a dirt jump to save his life...he designed all of the jumps at my local hill and they were basically unridable until mid season, Jay came for a demo day and even he couldn't pull huge tricks off them.

As for holidays...its our turn to do Christmas day dinner, so I am turkey cooking lol.

Whats fernie looking like for base? I will hit up one of the hills New Year, trying to decide which way to go...either Nelson - Frenie - Sunshine OR Sunshine - Kicking Horse - Revelstoke - Kicking Horse - Sunshine ???

Aw man, that's been hashed over and over.... Those jumps at Rabbit were built to be lame and safe to keep the grommatrons from launching themselves into the abyss. Liability issues......

Drinking whisky, building tattoo machines and eating my fat face off. January 1st I'm taking up Bulimia-nervosa as a new hobby.

I'm also gonna start stripping my freerider down for a rebuild, and chuck on some new parts.

fernie looks like its only got a 50cm base right now, but i got faith in the snow gods. they are always nice to me. the only place in our neck of the woods that i don't enjoy boarding at is lake louise. just bad mojo there for me. revy is rad but the drive home is like playing russian roulette with deniro and walken. stressful yo.

What a sweet thread. I sometimes wonder about the attitude towards people with lots of experience. I'm 40 now. I never did "send it" off jumps or do lots of skinnies. I jump and ride skinnies, I just never got crazy with it. I also never had a "revival". I started in early and never stopped. In 1986 I got a Norco Pinnacle. That was my second mountain bike. The first was a 12 speed balloon tire thing from Woodwards in Park Royal - about '84. So that was high school and I lived on Mt Seymour Parkway. I delivered the Sun after school, and then with other paper boy buddies, we'ed roll up our bags and strap them under our seats with toe clip straps and go ride. We'd ride cut your bars, the brown fish jump trail, the range, fisherman's(had to climb fences to do that) and so on. I went industry all the way. I worked at two bike shops in Lynn Valley and not BSP. Worked at Caps as well. And much later John Henry and Fanatykco. Was involved in the secret trail society on Fromme. Knew Dale, Dewey, Brake, and Lumpy when they were in North Van. Had breakfast at the Cafe Vienna before rides. Worked at machine shops, and still do that. Making bike parts for a living of course. What else are machines good for?

Any way. Goin' crazy down memory lane. I still ride, only now I have in excess of 25 years of bike handling experience. That means that on one hand I can drop a 4 foot loading ramp on my way to work with a coffe in one hand and a muffin in the other. On the other hand, I may just get off my bike and walk it around a small slippery log drop of only 2 feet if I don't feel like riding it. After all I'm bad ass, but on the other hand, I have seen some injuries and they hurt when it is cold out.

And, older dudes than I can hand me my ass on a plate!

Oh. Going Skiing for Christmas. It's the cheapest and easiest fun thing I can do right now. Just got to heal the frostbite on my chin from yesterday morning. It's cold at 70 kliks in -28.
