the biggest advantage of rigid is that it always handles the same, my argyle was good most time, but sometimes it sucked for a day (too slow rebound, and didn't do anything with the settings. next day it was fine again :S) and my goldlabel was really fine, but that one also had problems with not being 100% reliable
They pretty much beat sus hands down for dj/street/park.
They always feel the same riding up a transition, like spongebomb said, you dont want to hit something, or pull up to hop and have your preload or rebound play about and send you funny.
On the note of being smooth, im a hack, and get away fine with rigid forks, just like riding a bmx, just more comfy.
And try to use steel bars, alu bars are too stiff and generally dont feel nearly as nice with rigids.

that's also the reason i don't ride freecoaster btw
i don't agree on the alu/steel bars, i rode rigid + alu bar for over a year without any problems. there was a thread on ride-steeze.com about this and nobody who've ridden that setup had any problems with it
any one tried the rebate xl ? are they weaker than the normal ones cos there longer ? and rns or fundimentan ? wich is stronger ?
the longer the fork the weaker it will be as theres more leverage on it to bend. The xl will bend easier, theres no point in long forks though anyway.
The XL is fine. Works well. I grabbed the XL to give the front end a bit more height. I wanted the extra 35mm more A2C and to help negate the head angle a bit.

The guy commenting on how rigids are weaker than sus, im sorry but thats not true because people who ride rigids learn to bend their arms and ride smoothly, they have to if they like there wrists haha

it will bend easier than the regular rebate, but i still think it's stronger than 99% of all the rigid forks, cuase it's a rebate so a longer version of the strongest rigid fork ever made
the point of longer forks is that short rigid forks f*cks up the geometrie of a lot of frames

yeah tru. it will definately be strong for its length. I think ideally the issue is that its best to have a frame suited to a shorter fork aswell rather than a frame designed for suspenshion.
