For sure vpps have traction for miles of smiles but could deffo feel chain stretching under load and into rough sections.

Good to hear you enjoying the budget(haha) SC build. A custom hydro dip on frame would look absolutely sick on it!

Yeah it's been a pretty amazing bike so far. I got to ride it back to back with the N4 today on some pretty gnarly trails and I actually preferred my hightower over the nomad, which really surprised me. A lot more stable at speed, despite the two having similar wheelbase numbers/the nomad being slacker, the nomad felt a bit more squirrelly coming out of corners and i didn't feel like i could point-and-shoot it through really rough bits, had to be more conservative with line choice than on the hightower or i'd get thrown off line. I think the only place i'd take a nomad over a HT is on machine built jump trails, and even then i'm not totally sure.
Just thought i'd write this bit up since I definitely wished for a direct comparison like this when I was looking for a new bike. Both were XL frames, 50mm stems, and the N4 felt a little cramped to my 6'2 height.

Hey thanks for the comparison. Is your hightower 29er or 27.5+?

Coil on a hightower?
Gonna convert my 36 to coil with a ACS3 kit, may also go with a long-shock DHX2. Anyone running that?

I tweaked my Solo this winter and went with a long stroke coil.

Too lazy to shorten the brake hoses, and I like my RF Half Nelsons

Surely there needs to be some slack in cables when frame is under compression.

The aluminum frame came with blue. Where can I get some for the carbon frame?

Either contact SC or get some custom made. I know Richard at Stikrd could whip up some easily.

they sell decal sets (in that color) pretty much anywhere they sell SC bikes.

Question for anyone with a new Nomad 4...
How many tokens came in your Lyric from the factory? Is it correct in thinking 2?

Back on a Santa Cruz after a couple years on an Evil Following. The 5010 has been fun so far.
