At this point I can't help but think that the best hope for stopping this crime spree is Paypal putting in some better protections, because every reversed fraudulent transaction costs them money.
"bikelex" who uses the email "Johnelliot78@hotmail.com" is using stolen images to attempt to sell both a 2023 Moots Vamoots with SS Couplers as well as a 2020 Santa Cruz Chameleon.
I have several items I want to list, but fear all will get lost in these scammers posts now. I just got my money back from paypal on an X01 AXS upgrade kit I tried to buy here. It was $650 used, and not a unrealistic price considering I just got a new one from a reputable shop for $750.
I highly recommend you add a slip of paper to your items for sale with screen name and date on it. Its my new plan going forward.

Reason for reporting them -> JosephVanRoekel scammed me, I paid for an item which he/she did not send and is now ignoring my private messages.
EDIT: I reported the transaction via PayPal and they instantly sent me a refund of my money!! I'm so happy I have protection thur PayPal. I'm convinced this truly is a spammer because of my quick refund... I guess others also submitted reports via PayPal.
This dude again, notorious for poor comms but stuff eventually arrives
Again?? Well our last communication was that he was on vacation and would check when it shipped? It's been a month. No pedals, and no response.

Not really. Genuine seller is still a genuine seller. Your items might take a while to sell but they will sell. A lot depends on the communication and language in the post. Have come across quite a few scammers here and I can almost sniff a scammer from the way they reply emails. Reddit style handwritten timestamps is a great idea to standout. I'm going to do it from now on. I wish my username was same in both so I didn't have to write two different notes!
Just got scammed by this individual as well.... The email he gave for Paypal was davemchatton@gmail.com The Paypal receipt came through as anthonypretot2@hotmail.com I contacted Paypal and they said that this anthony guy has a business account with many other email auth's for doing business. Gave it 12 hours to play out and....
I received a UPS tracking number as per usual. Immediately, there was a random dispute filed on MY behalf via Paypal for $6. UPS tracking number was fake, however it did register that it was delivered to my house in 24hrs since being purchased. I contacted Paypal, explained situation and they refunded me all $3K.
https://m.pinkbike.com/u/bikesarelove/ I should have know that $450 for full XX1 AXS was too good to be true…guy stole pics from an actual EBay listing and reposted them on here. Paid and now radio silence.
brisa2conroy user, selling Two Trek Ebikes $3400 each including shipping, supposedly in north Phoenix one of the bikes photographed in Europe. Vague messages with them, reported as scammer, now vaporized...YAY!!
This looks like a scam to me: https://www.pinkbike.com/buysell/3596798/
I asked him to email me pictures and a video of the bike and the email response headers are in Albanian and from a timezone that isn't Florida (where the seller claims to be) https://www.pinkbike.com/u/Smokeybiker/
