I would go with the Giant. Ive been riding my 09 Glory for awhile now and absolutely love it! I know you said dont mention weight but I got my glory down to 41lbs so definitely not bad for a heavy duty frame (I still can go even lighter with a different setup). The maestro design is also a very solid platform with great small bump sensitivity and little to no pedal bob. I have also never dented my frame and it has taken some hard hits, hits that would most likely dent other frames.

Glory's are not the most flickable bikes and depending on setup tend to stick to the ground more than other bikes. They however jump and rail berms very well making it a really good all around DH bike. I highly recommend a Giant Glory over the socom.

i like it alot, but i think the socom looks legit

Glory all the way 100% that 09 is the shit. Intense is over rated.

i have a socom love it, lighter way lighter and u will start to worry bout weight i didnt care about weight now i do, plus it handles great, easy to move around in air and corners cuz of weight

Weight isnt an issue, so get the glory.

Glory will be ace to just plough through stuff, but is also nice and easy to hop onto different lines etc BUT there ar sooo many of them, if youve got some skills, grab a socom. The glory feels too cramped for my likeing, I prefer longer wheelbase personally, harder to control on steep tight corners and at slow speeds, but fantastic flat out!! like 224 or 06 Devinci Wilson Smile

Everything I've heard about them says that the socom is a race only frame, and they arent strong enough for regular DH/FR abuse

Thats probably why Ive never seen one, they are pretty rare!! there seems to be a lot of people saying that they are flimsy/squeaky etc
